My friend Debbie loves fine jewelry. She likes going to a particular Ottawa jewellers store because they sell antique and vintage jewelry from estates in addition to new jewelry. Debbie finds some really unusual items at this store. I enjoy going along with her, since she’s very knowledgeable about fine jewelry and she can point out various details and features to me.

I have to admit I’m a bit amazed at the amount of money Debbie spends on jewelry, but she makes a really good living and doesn’t have any children to support. It’s nothing for her to walk into this Ottawa jewellers store and drop $1,000 on an antique necklace. The last time we went there, she really wanted to a buy a sapphire and diamond ring, but it was priced at $5,000. That was way too much even for Debbie. I told her this piece was probably most suitable for an engagement ring, but she didn’t care. If she loves something, she’ll buy it, if it’s in her price range. Right now, Debbie is looking for a particular style of antique bracelet that she saw online, and has asked the Ottawa jeweller to call her if they find something similar to it. I’m sure they will, as they value her regular business.
